Nike Air Max 1 Launch Johannesburg

Yesterday, being Thursday 26th of March, was the launch and after party of the Nike Air Max 1 in Johannesburg. The event brought together energetic beings and lovers of the brand at The Alexandre Theatre, Braamfontein. Remember I said all the cool kids hang in Braamfontein? HERE

A  little history on Nike Air Max. "Nike Air came about in 1987 when designer Tinker Hatfield, who is also a trained architect, sought to make air visible. Giving the already existing Nike Air which runners were already used to more cushioning with improved technology."

"Tinker Hatfield was inspired by the Centre Pompidou, with it's exposed skeleton of brightly coloured tubes. Even thou Tinker Hatfield is in the forefront of the evolution behind Nike's Visible Air, it was also designed by David Forland Nike's director of cushioning innovation. David Forland created the first prototype of Visible Air with his own hands. Hence forth, the renowned thin and thinner soles of Nike Air became thick, and thicker as the pursuit for increased air in the sole began." SouthAfrica Fashion Week S/S 15 Update

Finally, fashion week has swept through and gone. Just for now, lol. This is an update post on SouthAfrica Fashion Week S/S 15 I posted here. Although I was able to attend the last day I had an incredible time, it's fashion week of course. I wore this yellow vintage jacket, a crop top and the new trending "bell bottom pants".

Having missed the shows from the previous days, I will do a catwalk update of all the collections at once. This update features only collections of designers that caught my fancy.
